If you could wear one color for the rest of your life, what would it be?
A: Black baby. So easy to make it look chic and dressy and equally easy to be casual, and I love that it works for any occasion.
M: Def. black. Like Amber Said, chic, timeless & easy!
Favorite Piece so far?
A: Our Maggie Jeans! They are my most worn piece from A+A. They fit so well and have the perfect amount of stretch. I love this brand and can’t wait to get more styles in. I don’t usually gravitate to jeans with holes in them often but they are for sure a must have.
M: My favorite piece is our No Glory Tee Shirt dress. Love that it’s so versatile & so edgy!! Like we said we both love to wear black so this piece is so easy to style!!
Strategies for managing your time when life is busy?
A: I am a huge list maker! Surprisingly though, I like writing everything down instead of using my phone to make a list because it seems more satisfying to me to get to cross off when I finish it. I also still use a planner because it’s very helpful to look ahead when you are busy with life and figuring out a schedule! I would also say if it’s starting to be too much for your mental health, write everything down that you have to do and decide what you can go without doing that week. When I get to that point, I decide what I can go without but then I think about what I have going on next week and plan what day I’m going to set aside to get that task done. This eases my stress because even though I’m taking it off my plate for the moment, I have a plan to finish it still!
M: I am also a physical list maker! I dump everything I have to do on a piece of paper and I go back and rate them in order, 1 being most important through things that can wait. From there I focus on one thing at a time and just try to delegate time towards things that are extremely important and push the things that are a little less important back. Always remember you can only do so much that day. Get your stuff done and spend time with those you love most (you will also be less worry some if you write everything down so you know what you need to do next and can mentally prepare for the next!)
Large busted over here… top suggestions to visually minimize?
A: A fitted top will be great if you have a larger bust because it won’t add any extra volume up top! A bodysuit is always a good comfy choice with tons of options. Another suggestion would be a wrap top or dress. This will really help pull in your waist and add some volume to the lower part of your body which will balance you out beautifully!
M: I think a great solution is to draw attention other places! Find something with a defined waistline, whether it be a top or dress, like Amber said above, or a structured dress to accentuate your waist. Other ways to visually minimize is to wear something boxy and oversized like a cardigan or oversized blazer!
A: I would love to go to Greece someday. I think Santorini, Athens, and Mykonos would be so fun to explore. They seem so beautiful and the history of all of these cities is so intriguing to me!
M: Bora Bora for sure! Sounds so cliché but I’ve never been to a place where the water is that blue and absolutely crystal clear! I love the houses on the water there and you have to walk on docks to get to your little hut. Who knows, maybe I’ll find Kim Kardashians missing diamond earring.
What are your serial killer traits?
A: Hahah! My serial killer trait is that I can sleep peacefully with my bedroom door open.
M: hmm.. This is a tough one. I would say my serial killer trait is leaving the air conditioner on allllllll year.
Any tips for buying rugs?
A: I think a rug is a fun way to add color to a room! Our house is mainly neutral so our living room rug really brought something fun to the design. Getting some throw pillows to tie in the colors is also a great way to bring the room together.
M: This topic is my favorite, I could talk for days about rugs! First of all, You always need a bigger rug than you think you do! The design ‘rule’ is you must be able to put the minimum of the front legs of your furniture on it. So the front feet of your sofa, coffee table or ottoman, and chair must all be partially on the rug. Tip number 2 would be research the material of rug needed for a certain area before purchasing. For example: you likely wouldn’t want a 100% jute rug under your sink.. If you spill spaghetti sauce on your expensive jute rug, that bad boy will likely be a goner. A rug that is made with polypropylene would be best for that application.
I just moved into my first apartment. Morgan, could you send me a few suggestions that are fun and girly? A piece of art, furniture, anything?
M: The best and worst things about apartments is that they are temporary and you can’t always do what you want with them. Just because you can’t always paint doesn’t mean you can’t add some personality and life in your apartment. My favorite hack is using the walls with windows to be my accent walls! I get a curtain rod that spans the wall with the window, and place the curtains from wall to wall, adding an element of softness, pop of color, and general everyday use! My second hack is to find some wall art that adds personality and color into your bare walls. My favorite place to source art is a thrift store or a website like Wayfair, Overstock, France and Son, etc. My other suggestion for fun is adding rugs. Yes, rugs on carpet! I got my 8’x10’ rug at Walmart and it’s the star of the show!
What are your guy’s skincare routines?
A: I currently use the IS Clinical line that I get from my dermatologist in Alexandria. I use the facewash and then have 2 night time and a daytime serum that I use daily. I also recently purchased a warming honey mask from the line that I use weekly and I love it so much! I’m still trying to find a moisturizer and spf that I love.
M: Oof, this one is hard because I don’t have a huge fancy routine and I don’t use expensive things. I wash my face morning and night with the Neutrogena Ultra Gentle Daily Facial Cleanser. in the mornings I moisturize with Cetaphil Daily Facial moisturizer with SPF 50, and at night I moisturize with Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion! Fancy, right?
